BRU Backup Server

BRU Server for Xandros is a native Linux backup software solution that protects critical information residing across your client/server network. BRU Server is based on the venerable and time-tested BRU engine and utilizes the most modern supporting technology structures to deliver its unique data protection characteristics. OFM, TOLIS' Open File Manager is available to back up live databases such as Exchange Server, SQL Server, Filemaker, Oracle, Sybase and others running on Windows® client systems.

Backup, Your Way

No two organizations are alike, nor have the same requirements of a backup system other than the requirement of reliability. BRU Server for Linux provides the flexibility to administer the backup strategy via the intuitive Xandros Management Console graphical user interface. BRU Server is also fully scriptable from the command line. These interfaces provide access to BRU Server's robust functionality, and backups can be administered locally or remotely.

Additionally, a "Synchronization Module" provides heightened system administrator support of the organization. Much like a user would back up PDA contents to their desktop system, an administrator can allocate a portion of the disk stage for individual client system users to back up and restore some portion of their own files - a significant time saving measure for both the administrator and user.

Integrated into the Xandros Management Console

Xandros and The Tolis Group have integrated management of the BRU Backup Server into the Xandros Management console. This enables administrators to use the same graphical tool to manage BRU as they do for the rest of the services running on the server. Additionally the integration enables the BRU Backup Server to know about the rest of the services running on each server in the managed community and automatically knows how to back up and restore each one.

Licensing

Xandros Server Standard Edition includes 6 BRU Backup Licenses that can be used to back up any server or desktop on the network (a $300 value). Additional licenses are available for $50 per machine, and may be purchased through Xandros by contacting our sales team.
